What this means is that depending on how hard you work and the decision you make you can change things your life can change as well. For example lets say you live in a bad neighborhood and want to move and change your life style you can you just need to work hard enough and make good decisions when you work. Lets say you want to be a better person and you want to have a successful life you can by working hard getting a really good education and saying you can do it and you make a good decision by getting a good education and doing what you need to do so you can have a successful life. The harder you work the better life style you'll have, a better position, you will live in a better neighborhood and a better place you live you'll have a better house. The harder you work the better things you will have and the good decisions you will make.
